About the Omni Integration

The Omni integration extracts key metadata from your BI environment into Secoda, including folders, dashboards, documents, and ownership details. Specifically, it pulls folder names, descriptions, paths, owner information, timestamps, dashboard names, view URLs, tags, and parent folders. It also builds automatic lineage connections between data sources, queries, and dashboards, helping you visualize how data flows through Omni. Embedded previews allow users to view Omni dashboards live within Secoda without switching tools.

How the Secoda and Omni connection works

The integration connects Omni’s analytics assets with Secoda’s documentation and governance engine. Secoda continuously ingests and syncs metadata from Omni folders, models, queries, dashboards, and documents, making them searchable and adding critical context. This improves visibility across the analytics stack, reduces manual upkeep, and ensures ownership and definitions are applied consistently.

How to see Omni data lineage

Secoda generates lineage diagrams that include Omni assets alongside upstream sources. Users can trace which models and dimensions power a dashboard and see how they connect to data in warehouses or transformation layers.
